StartupChicks

connecting and inspiring entrepreneurial women

I got in a "twitter conversation" with @GuyKawasaki this morning related to a post he did last evening: "What do women think are well-designed social networking sites? Think: "Twitter for women" should look like"

I replied "@GuyKawasaki HMMM... Why would I want "Twitter for Women" - half the fun is flirting with the the men! ;-)"

He replied "@jen_bonnett Then keep going to "24hr fitness" I am going to create "Curves of Twitter."

So, I told him I'd ASK YOU - The StartupChicks. Do you want a Twitter for Women and if so, what would it look like???

(If you don't know who Guy is - shame on you! How dare you call yourself a StartupChick!)

Trust that Guy won't follow in Dell's Della foot steps.

Tell Guy that what I'm really interested in is a more STABLE twitter not a gender specific one.

Can't really crank on this topic while I'm sitting on a women-focused tech site, can I? Or can't I? Oh why not...Is this really necessary? Are women under represented on Twitter? Getting shut down? Getting stalked? Need a private place to talk about their monthly visitor? (does that last question make you think of this hashtag "#."?)

Seems equal opportunity to me and pretty fem-friendly already. For heaven's sake, it's called "Twitter," which is a word, prior to the last 2 years, that I'd only heard used to describe women. It tickles me to hear that men "Twitter" all the time now.

Really, Guy, go do the other guys a favor. Start a guy-only Twitter and call it Grunter.
